Since NPS started trading in 2013, the focus has always been on delivering a range of high-quality services aligned with technological advances and the needs of our clients. In this respect, nothing has changed; indeed, we are even more committed to delivering best-in-class solutions supporting the UK’s digital infrastructure.
Over the years, we have grown in every way; we offer a more comprehensive range of services, we have more significant experience and a more extensive range of skills throughout the business, and we have an increasing number of clients who trust us to deliver what they need, and our turnover continues to grow.
To fulfil our long-term strategy, we are delighted to announce our Board and Senior Management Team is also growing. Joining founders and joint managing directors Joe Dickenson and Danny Preston on the NPS Board will be Mark Scott and Mick Cooper, who are non-executive directors; they bring a wealth of experience in building highly successful businesses with robust corporate structures that power growth. Mark Scott will also assume the role of Chair.
Hamish Ward has joined the Company and Board as Financial Director; he brings years of expertise and experience in scaling-up, governance, corporate structure, and financing/funding. Our final addition to the Board is Steve Potts, who recently joined as our new Commercial Director. Steve has many years of experience in telecoms, helping to build and develop backbone networks and running large commercial functions. The combination of Hamish and Steve is already paying dividends, with recent key wins and the development of our approach to large build projects.
Joe, Danny, Hamish and Steve also make up the new Senior Management Team (SMT), with a new Operations Director to be announced very soon. We are confident that we now have a Board and SMT that will assist in achieving the business’s immediate and long-term goals.
Inevitably, there will be further changes and additions (and opportunities) throughout the business in the future; for example, we have already recruited Kenton Stewart, who has joined as Head of Civils. Kenton is well-known and highly respected, with years of valuable experience in construction and network infrastructure. His role will be to develop our increasingly busy civils function; we are confident that his knowledge of fibre, utilities and passion for quality, along with his collaborative approach, will be appealing to the NPS client portfolio.
Speaking about the Board and Management changes, joint founder and managing director Joe Dickenson said: “I am delighted to be able to announce these exciting changes at NPS.
“We want to build on the success of the past few years and take the company to the next level. We have earned an excellent reputation in our sector. Still, we need to ensure we have the right people throughout the business to take advantage of the many opportunities that exist within the industry.
“Danny and I are confident that this new team will drive growth and cement NPS’s position as a market leader in network infrastructure. We are looking forward to working with them, and we’re genuinely excited about the future.”
That work has already begun as we are seeing a significant growth in opportunities, from both existing and new Customers. Reputation, relevant experience and resources are all playing their part in our growth, but it’s also about our culture, core values and a desire to lead from the front through innovation. We are fiercely committed to innovation and we have established NPS as a market leader in the deployment of Hollow Core Fibre.
We believe in ourselves, so attaining Code Powers was an essential milestone that will enable us to increase efficiency and commercial flexibility for our Customers. We have consistently demonstrated that we will invest in all areas of the business to keep our services relevant to current needs and ready for future demands.
It is for this reason that we made these additions to our Board and our Senior Management Team (SMT). We are doing this to scale the business by ensuring we take advantage of relevant opportunities and that we also continue to deliver the quality of service our existing clients expect. The strengthening of the Board and SMT allows us to implement a strategic and ambitious plan for growth that will reinforce NPS as a market-leading provider of network infrastructures in the UK and beyond. We anticipate this growth will be through a combination of organic expansion and strategic mergers and acquisitions. We have built a reputation for delivering on what we promise at the price we agree on, something that is only possible because we have invested in hiring the right people to enable us to offer a first-class turn-key solution. We can now do this at an even greater scale.
